A New Project Launches: The Artist’s Magic Wand – Deaf and Disabled Artists as Equal Contributors

The Artist’s Magic Wand project promotes the equal participation of Deaf and disabled artists in the cultural sector. The project offers a training program and learning materials on essential artist skills. It opens grant opportunities for artists and supports the creation of artist networks. The project also challenges art sector contributors to include the work of deaf and disabled artists in their programs.

This one-and-a-half-year project is funded by the Kone Foundation and implemented by Culture Association Eucrea Finland. It continues the work of the Culture for All Service’s project Making Space for Artistry. The project is led by Project Director Riikka Hänninen and Project Coordinator Sanni Virta.

The first event of the project is a weekend workshop for disabled and Deaf artists on 15.-16.3.

In the workshop you can plan and implement your next artistic project from idea to clear vision. The workshop is instructed by Riikka Hänninen and Sanni Virta from the project The Artist’s Magic Wand. It is free of charge, but you must register by 7 March.
